Science Internship
St. Margaret’s Episcopal School has an opening for a Science Intern for 2012-13 school year. Only applicants with a BA or BS in Science will be considered. A California Teaching credential is a plus. This is an Internship; however, it is an ideal situation for a recent college graduate who is ultimately seeking a career in teaching. This is a Sept. — June position with Summer School possible in 2012. Mentor Teachers- Breakthrough SJC
St. Margaret’s seeks to hire Mentor Teachers in both English and Science for its Breakthrough SJC program. The Mentor Teacher will have a minimum of two years teaching experience, a commitment to and passion for teaching, understanding of and appreciation for the middle school-aged child, outstanding subject matter knowledge and the ability to work effectively in a variety of environments with people from diverse backgrounds. It is important that the Mentor Teacher have a love of learning, teaching and students. Creativity and enthusiasm are vital for success, as is the ability to deliver positive, constructive and honest feedback. Outstanding presentation, organizational and communications skills are essential.
In addition to those qualifications outlined within the job description, the successful candidate for this position will possess a strong interest in academically rigorous curriculum, proven leadership, organizational and management skills and will have a strong sense of purpose and vision for expanding educational opportunities to under-served young people, a strong work ethic, a personal love of learning and the ability to effectively work within diverse communities of students, parents and other educators.
