Moms In Touch
SMES Statement of Faith
St. Margaret's Episcopal School teaches and demonstrates the Christian faith in the Anglican tradition. We embrace Christianity as our foundation. We believe that God calls us to love all His children. In that spirit, St. Margaret's offers a loving and tolerant environment that respects individual differences and seeks to deepen students' understanding of God's role in their lives.
Introduction
The Moms In Touch Ministry at SMES believes that prayers make a difference.
Our Purpose:
- To stand in the gap for our children through prayer.
- To pray for our children's spiritual, emotional, physical, and academic growth through their activities here at SMES.
- To pray for teachers and staff as they guide the students.
- To provide support and encouragement to moms, dads, and families who carry heavy burdens.
- To pray for any and all aspects of our school.
Meetings
Moms In Touch International (MITI) is known at SMES as "MIT". MITI is an international, Christian organization with satellite groups initiated by mothers at various schools. Currently, up to 20 SMES moms meet weekly on campus to pray for our students, school, teachers, and administrators.
Anyone may join the meetings held Thursday mornings from 7:45am to 8:45am in the church building. For exact location, ask at the front desk in the church office.
Prayer Requests
Anyone who is unable to attend a meeting may e-mail specific or general prayer requests to our ministry. We have two e-mail adresses to serve your needs:
: If you send your request to this e-mail address, your prayer request will be brought only to our meeting on Thursday mornings. The prayer request will be shared with the women attending the meeting, lifted up in prayer by the group, and held in strictest confidence.
mitprayerchain@smes.org: We have a larger community of moms who are not able to attend our meeting on Thursday mornings but have prayer time that they would like to dedicate to the intentions of the SMES Community. To have your prayer requests sent to all moms on the Prayer Chain, please use this e-mail address.
In addition to using e-mail to make a prayer request, you may also drop a prayer request in either of our prayer boxes on the SMES campus. We have one prayer box in the PTF room and one in our Pre-School office area. A member of our MIT group will check these boxes prior to our meetings on Thursday mornings and bring them to our group prayer.
Prayer requests may be from anyone in the SMES community (parents, students, faculty, administration staff, etc.). MIT honors all prayer requests. No prayer requests are considered too large (major illness, job change...) or too small (test anxiety, performance...) to be lifted up in prayer. All prayer requests remain confidential.
